Coogee Courtyard Cafe

Branding, menu design, merchandise
Project Overview
Create a new brand identity for Coogee Courtyard Cafe
My Contributions
I met with the owner to discuss a rebrand for his cafe on Coogee Bay Road in Coogee. He wanted a new logo along with new menus for his cafe so I designed these along with a few items of merchandise for his staff.
When I met with the owner about his exisiting brand, it was clear he wanted something new and exciting. His current brand was outdated and in need of some work.

He said he wanted the items on his menu to stay the same and that he really liked his neon sign that read "courtyard". Besides this he gave me free reign to see what I could come up with.
Initial Meeting
Discussing the rebrand.
As I knew the owner liked his neon green sign I wanted to turn this into the logo along with another icon for the cafe. The icon itself is a play on the cafe being so close to the beach, showcasing a coffee cup with a wave inside.

For the colours I chose navy, along with the neon green, and a complimentary cream. The owner wanted something clean and simple so the typeface used throughout the rebranding was bebas neue.
Logo Design
Logo & colour selection
To showcase the new logos I went ahead and made a few mockups for the owner to show him what the logos could like across a range of medium applicable to the cafe.

This included coffee cups, signs, business cards and even bread bags.
Logo Usage
Logo applications and use
I took the previous Coogee Courtyard menu and all of the items on it and applied the new branding I had designed.

I used the neon green colour to make certain items stand out and kept everything else relatively simple.
